brown in his eyes reminds me of those morning skies

i didn’t have a favourite colour
so we decided to choose one
we stared at the clear sky
and tinted hues of sunset
he showed me yellow from the sun
and affliction to forget
we soaked in the rain
narrating our agony
we moved to the forest
hoping to begone in scenery
endless colours and infinite tinges
forest seemed like a home
in the world of stinges
and little did I know
it wasn’t the forest
nor the rain
which made me laugh like a drain
the twinkle of his soul
made me realise
my favourite colour
was the shade of his eyes
