Fading Echoes

You turned and vanished like the wind,
A shadow where a friend once stood, now thinned.
No words, no warning, just silence in your wake,
Leaving me to navigate this ache.
The roads we shared, once bright, now stretch in gloom,
A hollow path where laughter used to bloom.
I search for answers in the void you left behind,
But find no solace, no peace of mind.
Why did you go, so swift, without a sound?
No thread of reason, no anchor to be found.
You walked away, your presence now erased,
A stranger where a friend was once embraced.
You stand in power, in wealth, in light,
While I drift through the endless night.
I seek no riches, no treasures, no claim,
Just the warmth of a bond I can no longer name.
Yet here I am, alone, with memories worn,
A heart once full, now fractured and torn.
I miss the friend I thought would always stay,
But dignity remains, though you’ve gone your way.
You turned and left without a trace,
A fleeting ghost who once filled this space.
I’ll walk this road, though it’s lonelier now,
For you were my friend, and I still wonder, how!
