My Interpretation of Religion

The more I closed my eyes before God
The more I realised my ignorance towards the social evils

The more I climbed the stairs of the temple
The more I realised that my life is a journey not a destination

The more I rang the bells before the deity
The more I realised my deafness and insensitivity towards my loved ones

The more I saw people with different ages and abilities
The more I realised my thankfulness for making me fit and fine

The more I saw beggars begging at the corridors
The more I realised my hunger for earning money

The more I saw people of different communities and religions
The more I realised the essence of unity and tolerance

The more I saw the long queues in front of the gate
The more I realised the discipline which the religions teach

The more I saw people commenting and noticing others attire
The more I realised the hypocrisy and unhealthy competition in society

The more I walked bare feet to please the Lord
The more I realised the sacrifices we make in our lives

The more I saw the superiority among the priests
The more I realised that how people have moulded the religion as per their convenience

The more I saw people serving prasads to different people
The more I realised the strength of humanity

The more I wandered in search of God and his blessings
The more I realised his presence in me and other fellow beings.
