My City
When I opened my eyes, I saw the Ganges,
Saw the crops swaying in the plough field.
Saw the boat coming from Manihari,
Saw fishermen fishing with the Net.
I opened my eyes and saw the Birds chirping,
And saw them flying away from the hill.
I saw the children hopping and dancing in the garden,
Saw labour’s shoulders bowed by the burden.
I saw the evening aarti in the Ganges,
Saw the bells ringing in the temples.
saw children playing in the streets,
Saw people eating momos and fast food.
Saw the children are coming from the school.
I realised my city is still growing.
