‘Here’s the tale of Aadhik maas..’ (A gold winning poem)
(This poem was awarded gold at allpoetry.com)
Here’s the tale of Aadhik maas,
every three years, it happens to pass.
Aadhik maas is the month counted as extra,
hence thirteen months in that year of fiesta.
As the solar year is 365 and lunar 354 days,
the gap of 11 days gradually widening text says.
Hence to make up the 30 days gap,
every three years an extra month’s wrap.
All twelve months linked to some God,
Aadhik mass but looking so odd.
Lord Vishnu himself came to rescue,
Purushottam maas, another name’s cue.
Year though pious but that month not good,
hence no auspicious celebrations, understood.
Geeta recitals, charities, and donations,
done to help the deprived ones.
