9. Thy Love
I know not how on earth I loved thee.
But thou art mine ever since I did see.
I did toil hard to restrain my heart.
From thy love pangs that could hurt.
But into thy lake-like eyes I fell
And in thy heart I began to dwell.
Thou became my world from that day on.
It dawned upon me- for thee I was born.
My heart, for sure, leapt up in all its glee.
Together our hands locked, We could flee.
Far away to a fairy land of thy very own,
From where we could never look down.
There thou reigned as the fairy princess.
Scores of fairies lined to fulfill thy wishes.
When confronted each other our faces,
The love of my life was full of blushes.
Thou took me in all thy warm embrace.
The moment I’d been awaiting to grace.
A feeling so heavenly never was before felt,
As if I were the lone prince with thee dwelt .
O mine ! Thou spared me from being lovelorn,
From the fate into which unrequited love is torn.
Though thou art now not with me,
Till my last breath I will love thee.
How can I forget thy love that I cherish?
With the passage of time it will flourish.
