I did write an article on World Earth Day but World Book Day passed away silently. I deliberately didn’t merit any of my posts on Social media , why?? I wanted to check whether any of so called litereurs authors would write anything upon it but to cut a sorry figure none responded and my expectations didn’t have a free fall,they fall accordingly.
Once there was a time when you could see books in every hand who had a bit of interest in studies. People would like to read the books other than their syllabus and course. It all depended upon their interest and subject. Some liked literature and other would like to read on nature. Some liked astronomy and some on animal kingdom. There’s a wide range of topics which can be selected as per your interest. You could see people reading in park silently. They were seen reading in railways or bus while travelling. You can never be feel alone when you have a book in your hands.
They (Books) are our best friends.
All of a sudden mobiles came on the horizon. Mobiles turned smart. These new phones have wide range of features. They have touch screens; Google and Microsoft turned these phones into knowledge bank. You ask anything and it will show you the correct answer.
Even during Corona smart phones have helped students and teachers to take classes online. Even exams were held online. Work from home is the feature on a larger version of smart phones i.e. laptop or tablet. No files and no fear of losing them .
Books have slowly slipped away from our hands and bookshelves. Our personal library on which we felt proud are no more. Some books have reached on the waste traders shops.
A big question mark again on the books?? Only syllabus or professional books are read as it needs more concentration. We should keep our interest and hobby on various subjects alive and restart reading. Your this passion of reading books uplift your personality to a higher level.
