“The Power of Orange”
I was wandering in the core of darkness and unable to see anything,
I had no reason to be there, but my shattered soul raced and took wing.
Life had been proven unkind, and its scars were plainly seen,
The pain was terrible, always there on the screen.
I was about to finally give up when a tiny sparkle did ignite,
Gradually, it started to burn profusely and came to my rescue like a knight.
The darkness became my habit, so it seemed hard for my eyes to accept this change,
But the warmth soothed my anxiety, and I felt protected in the color orange.
Strength started to well up, and confidence took a triumphant flight,
The ditch where people thought I was being buried gave me a new height.
Someone inquired, ‘You exude such strength, what is the source of your newfound might?’
My inner self grinned and replied, ‘I conquered the widest expanse of my fears in the darkest night.
