From I to We- Please Marry Me
She came to the classes with her glasses on,
Meanwhile I whistled at the last bench singing a song.
I was reluctantly inquiring about the subject’s name,
She took out her reading material as the professor came.
Professor told us to be careful as the exam was near,
Slowly his word occupied my mind I could sense the fear.
That was the first time I saw her smile,
When she was proudly arranging notes in her file.
Seeing this I got motivated to move to the first seat,
By sitting next to her my heart nearly skipped a beat.
After three days I gathered same courage and waved hiee,
The lecture was over and she signaled goodbye.
I ran and slammed the class’s wooden door,
Rushed and finally managed to find her in the corridor.
“I wish to take your notes as a class buddy,
Please help me as I want to study.”
Holding my anxiety I remained quite firm,
as it was most important semester of last term.
Peacefully I started walking with her the main gate,
She exclaimed, “At nine in the library & don’t be late”.
I now had confidence my studies will be fine,
With this feeling I reached library even before nine.
She come at the stipulated time and gave a weird look,
Scolded me and told for studies you need to have a notebook.
Leaving behind my trails of a hip hopper,
I became studious in the company of our topper.
I’m in love that’s what my heart used to murmur.
Brain signaled concentrate on studies not her.
We used to hang around and often had fun,
Sometimes after our studies was done.
Exams came and I wrote them all,
Irrespective of thinking that whether I will rise or fall.
College was over and results would be announced on the graduation day,
I wanted to confess my love but it was difficult to say.
Knowing that she didn’t top my heart sank,
I was shocked to hear that I secured the first rank.
I couldn’t realize what was going on my head.
With tears in my eyes I walked the stage and said,
“You taught me love you taught me life
Please be my beloved wife”.
She just smiled and nodded yes,
Till now she is the best teacher for my kids I guess.
