15. The Naughty Rat
There was a small rat.
He was quite fit and fat.
He used to make a run
Everywhere only for fun.
He climbed onto the bell
And would wag his tail.
Kids at home enjoyed.
The rat too was buoyed.
After all folks had dined,
The left-overs he did find.
He then had it all to his fill.
Seeing this, kids did thrill.
One day the rat felt too hot.
He got into a water-filled pot.
He bathed in its cold water,
As if he found a real gutter.
In the little water he wallowed
And was happy in this abode.
When the mama spotted this,
She cried out and called all kids.
Kids had a good laugh to see him.
Though wet, he was in his whim.
The rat put his two hands folded
And then he was much scolded.
