Sharing the blanket
Just be ready to sacrifice your room,
After coming of your bridegroom.
Granny‘s lines echoed in her ears,
All blushing she was calming her fears.
Making herself bold enough she firmly said,
“I won’t share my blanket and bed.”
“Just be ready don’t be late,
I wouldn’t like to see them wait.”
-Father instructed passing by,
As he rose his expectation up so high.
The boy finally arrived with his mom and dad,
who stared her like an inquisitive mad.
She wore a pretty baby pink gown,
serving them tea she nervously sat down.
Questions were fired to her like machine guns,
To her rescue granny asked the boy to take her out once.
Only for them the lawn was set,
Where they greeted each other and met.
The boy did maximum talking,
Instead of sitting they preferred walking.
She had left everything to fate.
Meanwhile, the families were deciding the wedding date.
They both said they were ready to marry,
That was the responsibility they were wedding to carry.
During her courtship,
As the started talking to him more and more,
Her feeling for him knocked her heart’s door.
She felt blissful and wanted everyone to know,
Finally, the wedding day arrived with great pomp and show.
That night she looked at her best in her bridal dress,
Wrapped in his arms she released all her stress.
Few weeks later,
Granny asked her about the special luck in her life.
Post marriage, she wanted to know,
how she felt from being a daughter to wife.
She looked at granny’s face for a while,
And said with an innocent smile,
Now he rules over my heart and head,
And I am ready to share my blanket and bed.
