Life Like A Falling River
You promised me life like a falling river,
Always flowing at its pace without any trouble.
You said about its peace and coolness,
No boundaries, flowing until it merges into the ocean.
You conveyed its power over the plains and
The force, with which it slashed the lanes.
You told me about its evergreen songs,
Which it giggled it’s all the way long.
But you forgot to introduce me, with its hassles
How it did bleed when the rocks pierce its edges.
You didn’t tell me about the burns that
Inscribed on its soul via crossing the dust storm.
You never mentioned the longingness it feels, when
It had to leave its loveable meadowlands.
You betrayed me with the known fact that,
I had to become ocean only by losing my subsistence.
