The OCD Psychologist
Jenny’s OCD was always there,
A constant weight, a nagging scare,
As a child, she’d count and touch,
In a certain order, so much.
Her family thought it was a phase,
But it lasted for years and days,
She managed it with therapy and pills,
But the fear stayed, it gave her chills.
Jenny studied psychology in college,
She was fascinated by the mind’s knowledge,
She wanted to understand why,
Some brains make us do things we deny.
With a master’s degree in hand,
Jenny developed a treatment plan,
For those with OCD and anxiety,
To help them overcome their society.
Her patients were amazed,
By the empathy Jenny conveyed,
Knowing their therapist had been in their shoes,
Helped them feel safe and secure.
Jenny’s Ph.D. soon followed,
Her own struggles with OCD hallowed,
She opened her own practice,
And helped countless people practice.
Jenny’s experience gave her insight,
And helped her patients take flight,
Overcoming their fears and taking control,
Of their lives, as a whole.
Jenny’s struggles led to her success,
And helped her patients find their best,
She never gave up, no matter the trial,
And her patients found hope, and smiled.
