The Lion and the Mouse
Once upon a time, in a dense jungle, a mighty lion lay sleeping under a tree. A tiny mouse, scurrying about, accidentally ran over the lion’s paw. The lion awoke with a start and caught the mouse in his huge claws. “Please let me go,” begged the mouse. “I may be small, but I can help you someday.”Amused by the idea, the lion released the mouse. “You’re too small to help me,” he chuckled. Some days later, the lion was caught in a hunter’s net. He roared loudly, but no one came to help. The mouse heard the roar and hurried to the scene. Gnawing through the ropes with his sharp teeth, the mouse set the lion free.”You were right,” said the lion. “Even the smallest creature can be of help.”Moral: Kindness is never wasted.
