A Smart Boy
The sun appeared in the sky, waking all the people from their slumber. Mist was dropping on the land with grass. All the birds were going in search of food, and all living organisms were in their shelters. It was morning time. One such child was going towards the market.
His name was Amir. Amir was a smart boy, but he lived alone with no family members. He had lost his father and mother in a car accident, and since then, he had been living alone. When he arrived at the market, he looked at a man who was selling lemons from a basket. Then he put his hand in his pocket and found only twenty rupees. He purchased three lemons and sat a little far from the man.
He started screaming, “Lemon! Lemon! Last three Kashmiri lemons!” One person heard his voice, came over, and asked, “How much?” The boy replied, “These are fifty rupees because they are Kashmiri lemons, but I will give them to you for thirty rupees because these are the last three lemons.”
The man quickly bought the Kashmiri lemons and was very happy to have bought them because he thought his wife would be happy.
On the other side, the smart boy was also happy. The reason was that he bought the lemons for twenty rupees and sold them for thirty. The next day, the boy came to the lemon seller, bought five lemons, and sold them like he did the last day. Slowly and steadily, he became a rich man. The lemon seller was amazed to see the boy’s smartness. He met with him and invited him to be a partner. The boy who had become a rich man agreed, and they worked together. The boy lived with him like family.
