Friends today
I know, every heart had a complaint,
Against the oppression thrusted over me,
I observed, every tongue rested restraint,
Why anyone for my sake, trouble see.
I knew of being a victim of the verdict,
So I have no grudge against punishment.
But wonder how fairly my friends depict,
Unfair falsehood, twisting truth’s temperament.
Thorny clumsy cliffs boldly I rode,
Higher I exist, Highness my abode.
Why should one ponder over my soars
See first my feet’s agonising sores.
